Exposure-Based Therapy

Exposure-based therapy can look different for each person and their specific needs. Exposure therapy is a technique largely used to teach applicable skills & interventions needed to face fears. This is an evidence-based treatment modality to assist individuals towards long-term success and progression towards their treatment goals.

Why Exposures w/ Body Image issues & Eating Disorders?

Exposure-based therapy related to body image or disordered eating teaches the individual different tools to learn how to face triggers which often provoke fear such as: Being around "fear foods" without feeling out of control or anxious. Implement skills to manage anxiety/ distress if missing a workout. Learn how to not be worried around clothing items that evoke distress.

You will learn how to stop the food fight, and the war on your body! You will learn how to mange the stress people often feel surrounding the fears of weight gain or body changes. Know that here is a safe place and that we will work to give you a flexible relationship with food and body.
